The Adopted Lion Cub, Now Grown Into A Big, Tame Cat.

The man from southern Africa has an unusual pet at home, a lion cub.
But this lion has become so tame, so its behavior is like a house cat!
The lion, usually called Zion, was officially adopted by Frikkie Von Solms, a man who is now in his 70s, for the last few decades.

The mother of the lion adopted by Frikkie, Simba, gave birth to her while still in captivity.
Frikkie is afraid the father can kill her son, so they must be separated.
That's what makes Frikkie willing to take on the role of raising the little lion.

After spending more than a decade together, the relationship between Zion and Frikkie created a common belief between the two and formed a very special bond.
When Sion was young, Frikkie had to feed him every four hours.

"It is a lifetime experience to learn to live and grow together through all the stages in order for Zion to become a lion. When people talk about lions like lions and animals in general, but actually they have a personality, even have a sense of humor and can laugh, "said Frikkie.

"Although Zion belongs to one of the most deadly predator species in the world, it has powerful front legs and sharp claws capable of conquering even large prey, but Zion is a gentle giant. He never attacks humans and I trust him completely, "Frikkie said.

Their unique bonds can not be separated. Frikkie willingly holds her tail affectionately as they walk along the dusty streets.
Zion also likes to walk around by driving Frikkie trucks. This duo is even known to often share the same bed.

Having been raised in Frikkie's upbringing since childhood, Zion is not like any other wild lion.
He has turned into a really tame animal.
When they were together, Frikkie even had to take off her shoes and barefoot, because the sound of his footsteps made the big cat very upset.

He could not possibly return to the wild and live with other wild animals, such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, who are preserved by Frikkie.
Of all the animals that Frikkie adopted and has grown, he says that Zion is the most special.
"Before taking care of Zion, I have adopted and handled nineteen lions, leopards and cheetahs. But he is special because of the bond of relationship created between us. I learned a lot from him, "he said.
